The first time it broke down in Midland Texas. Next time was in April of 2018. I replaced the batteries which were 2 years old and had been replaced by the dealer before. Truck started OK for a week and left me stranded. After sitting for about an hour it started and worked for another week. The next time was about a week later and again a few days later.

The next time was May 3, 2018. It was towed to the dealer and they had it for 3 weeks after updating the software. The truck was picked up May 25, 2018 and parked. I decided to drive it on May 27, 2018. I drove 2 1/2 miles and parked it and went to use it an hour later and again it wouldn't start. Lights came on the dash, radio played and the ac blower was on. I tried to get those things to turn off but couldn't. I locked the truck up and noticed every thing stayed on with the radio playing. 15 minutes later I went back to check it and it was still playing. Waited another 15 minutes and checked again and it was off. About an hour later I was able to start it. I wasn't about to take it anywhere. This truck has 38K miles on it now.

Update from Jan 29, 2019: I have a 2015 Ram 2500 bought new for $68K and also have the noise coming from the drag link right side that started a month ago. I've also had 2 water pumps replaced. The first one my wife was driving and she lost the steering and brakes because the belt came off and you lose the hydo boost that runs the brakes and steering. Anyone else have issues where it wont start. I've had that happen 3 times and had to have it towed to the dealer. They said it needed software upgrade. First time was 300 miles from home with a 32' trailer attached to it with only 9K miles on it. Now it has 46000 miles on it.

with just over 1141 miles since last SAME "ENGINE HOT - NO CRANK" problem, it occured again. this time deep in woods while deer hunting. called dealer by cell phone and he said try this: disconnect both batteries and wait 10 minutes (reset the codes). Engine started, then and i rushed to dealership. They could not duplicate my problem. they performed pinpoint test for DTC P2509 and found all ressistance values to be acceptable with in spec.

told me to return if problem returned!!!!!!
