The contact owns a 2024 Ram 2500 equipped with Firestone Tires, Tire Line: Firestone TransForce HT, Tire Size: LT275/70/R18, and DOT Number: VN15TH73023. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70-75 MPH and passing another vehicle in the fast lane, the rear driver's side tire experienced a blowout. The contact activated the hazard lights and was able to pull to the shoulder of the right side of the road while the rear of the vehicle was fishtailing. The contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the tire blowout had caused damage to the undercarriage. Additionally, the tire tread had detached, hit and caused damage the rear driver's side of the vehicle and to fuel tank filler neck. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided assistance in towing the vehicle to an unknown Dodge dealer, who informed the contact that they could not performed the needed repairs, and the contact was advised to contact the insurance company for assistance. The insurance insurance company was contacted and arranged for the vehicle to be towed to Caliber Collision for repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The tire was an original tire. The tire was not replaced. The tire manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The Tire failure mileage was approximately 24,681. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 24,681.
