CarComplaints.com Notes: Is burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles normal? Depends on who you ask. While Subaru says it's within "normal specifications," owners wonder why they need to top off their oil reservoir 4 times between every 5,000 mile oil change.

Forester Limitied With EyeSight 2.5L

Rubber door gasket trim attached to the window frame will freeze to the car body, causing the rubber gasket to stick to the car body and then peel off the door frame like a banana peel when opening the door.

This problem happens when the air temperature goes below Zero (0) Celcius and lower. Both front doors have proven to have this problem.

This problem has been reported in the Subaru Forester Owners Forum (SubaruForester.org) by other owners.

Subaru Service Departments have told me that "... this happens to all cars" meaning, ALL CARS, not just Subaru models, and it is NOT COVERED by any secret or extended warranty beyond the basic 3 yr, 60,000km.

Told me: "... the entire door gasket has to be replaced and fixed back onto the door frame using 'Christmas Tree Fasteners' if that's what was used to install the gasket."

Wow, just wow! Shame on Subaru.
