CarComplaints.com Notes: Is burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles normal? Depends on who you ask. While Subaru says it's within "normal specifications," owners wonder why they need to top off their oil reservoir 4 times between every 5,000 mile oil change.

Subaru extended the warranty on the cvt transmission due to the large amount of customers having issues. They did themselves a favor by stopping warranty at 100,000 miles. They already knew the problem happens just over that mileage mark. I suggest anyone who owns a car with cvt transmissions should do like Subaru is doing by passing the problem on to someone else. Dedication, responsibility and reliability is not SUBARU JAPAN.

Subaru knows there is a problem with these and won't stand behind it. I have been driving for 50 yrs and this is the most I have ever spent to have a car fixed. I bought it brand new so I know its been taken well care of. Don't buy a Subaru.
