We've had three starting issues with this 2015 in the last two months. Two of which have occurred this week. All three times have happened when just going to the store and parking it then to come out to no power. None..the vehicle just has no electrical power. There is no warning signs or sounds of a weaken battery prior to its not starting. It was jumped all three times and it started right up. The only things this has in common with each other was it being suddenly cold (40 degrees). It was taken to Autozone (twice) for a battery check with no apparent problem.

There is nothing more frustrating for your low mileage vehicle to not start. The next step is to the Subaru dealership which I'm afraid will dismiss it when it starts for them and no diagnostic error will come up.

I actually have three ISSUES :

1. car was bought with 'blue tooth' capacity. After hours at the dealership, I was finally told, "well it works 50% of the time." Don't want a car that parts of it work 50% of the time. I can receive calls but cannot make calls. I was given some "shut up money" to buy a new blue tooth radio. Was told by the radio dealership and another Subaru dealership that my model would never work with a blue tooth.

2. Back up screen is dangerously inaccurate. The screen shows what is behind car if it is a little distance away but not right close to the back wheels. It is not to be relied on at all. When first using back up panel,medium sized boulder behind back right tire could not be seen in the screen. I hit it and dented the fender and bumper.

3. "Pain in the Ass" is the irregular non turning over of the engine. It does not flood but just won't turn over. I tried several times this AM and then had to use husbands truck. This afternoon it started on second try. I took car to dealership but of course if was "fine." I am worried I am going to get stuck somewhere since so far this is an undiagnosed irregular problem. Thank you

I drove about 2 miles from the house on an errand. The exterior temperature gauge was showing about 10 degrees cooler than it was outside. I parked the car and turned off the ignition, leaving the radio on for a moment. After about 5 minutes, the radio just stopped working. I turned the vehicle completely off and attempted to start it. It wouldn't start. On the third attempt, the speedometer and tachometer gauge went completely to the right and then incrementally came back down to zero. The lights were all on on the dashboard. I turned the ignition off and allowed the vehicle to sit. After after 5 to 10 minutes, I attempted to restart it and it has worked fine. I did have to reset the clock, but the other settings including the radio were fine. I will update it's status if it occurs again. Fortunately the ignition was off when this occurred.

Several times my car has failed to start. It would grind and almost start then I would finally stop and try again. On two occasions I had AAA boost it. AutoZone checked the battery and found it 100%. After the second time I took it to my dealer, but they found no problem and advised me to have it towed without boosting if it happened again. I did. They just called to tell me a new starter is being ordered. They said they could not reproduce the problem and found nothing wrong.

The big problem is that I do not know if I can trust it to start. I wish it would happen more consistently or that It would happen for them. Before the towing I had great problems making it grind before finally starting several times. Most of the time it started without a problem. I did not go anywhere unless I knew the service department would be open; this meant no nighttime travel. Now I am going to be right back where I started I'm afraid. I would think it was just mine, but the loaner car they gave me (Thank you.) had the same problem last evening! It is also a 2015 Forester.

When they called about the new starter I asked if they had had this problem with other Foresters. The answer was no. Am I just unlucky to have driven two with the problem? I drove, and I might add loved, mine for 15,000+ miles before the problem appeared; the loaner has @ 5,000. Has anyone else had this problem?
