Dashboard is made of a material that melts into shiny sticky goo. Once it is in this sticky melted state the dashboard cannot be touched and it extremely reflective of any sunlight causing significant and unsafe glare on the windshield when driving in the direction of the sunlight. Dashboard also collects dust and dirt which cannot be removed since it gets embedded into the goo.

the dashboard has been melting away for a couple of years I purchased this car for my wife so I really don't drive it too often. A couple of years ago I noticed how sticky and shiny the dash had become and how freakin impossible it was to clean. Knowing that the car was out of warranty I contacted Subaru USA on multiple occasions and I was told they really never heard of anything like this, which is BS. After sending them pics I got a call back letting me know that they would give me a $500 reimbursement towards an new dash. When I called the dealership I got a quote for the dash, which the reimbursement would have covered, but they would not cover the $1300 labor. To say I was pissed off would be an understatement. The dealership went as far as accusing my wife of attempting to clean the dash with something that cased this. WTF! I waited a year and called back, as I don't have an extra $1300 for an install on something that is clearly a manufactures defect. When I called back I had assumed that others had complained and there might be a recall. No Luck. I have been reluctant to trade the car in because I am sure this will depreciate my vehicles worth. It's horrible to drive and quite frankly is dangerous.
