The car has started overheating when we leave the car idling. And this has been during very cold days in January (Michigan). It has happened multiple times now and we've taken it to the local mechanic twice for repair. He can't figure out what is happening. He has replaced the fans but that didn't help. I suggested that he swap out the thermostat but he didn't do it. We will probably try that next.
