My 2014 Subaru Crosstrek burns oil. I had the oil changed for my trip from Washington to Calif. On the way back, my oil light came on with approx 2200 miles on the oil. When I stopped to check it, it was about 3/4 quart low. I had Subaru do an oil consumption test but their test has to burn oil in 1200 miles and mine didn't. I have a 2014 Subaru Forester going through the same process with about 32000 miles, did an oil test and same result did not burn oil in 1200 miles.

My low oil light comes on before my oil change(done every 5k miles). Had oil consumption test done by the dealer but they claim it's fine.

Don't let Subaru tell you that 2+ quarts consumed in less than 3,000 miles is normal. Short block and rings are defective. Subaru has been covering this up for about 5 years. DO NOT BUY
