I have babied my Tesla since 2013 when I purchased the car. My warranty expired in 2021. One month after my warranty expired the high voltage battery died. Tesla says I need to spend $13-19k on a battery. They also tell me my car was only worth ~$20k BEFORE the battery died. The only option they have provided is a replacement.
Does this mean Tesla’s used cars should have ZERO market value after the warranty expires? Who would buy their cars if the battery can inexplicably die, rendering the car valueless? My car had 40k miles and gave no warnings.
Tesla locally refuses to give me the name of anyone at a national level responsible for used car prices or the person responsible for service.
