CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 RAV4's top complaint is that the navigation screen is impossible to see in direct sunlight.

While certainly an annoyance, it's not a big deal in the world of car problems. Luckily the fix is a $10 anti-glare screen cover.

In 2014 my windshield was broken by itself and I didn't have any ideas why it was broken. Safelite fixed it for me. My insurance company covered some of it and I paid some of it. A few years, it was broken again, when I called insurance company they told me that I was kicked out so this time I had to pay it by myself.

For the second time, in it's short 5 yrs, I'll have to replace the windshield because of a crack. First time was when it was only 3 yrs old. Neither crack started with a stone pit that could be repaired. They seemingly started from nothing, and within a short drive ran across the windshield. Both happened in the winter, making me wonder if it's a problem with the heater meeting cold glass. Both cracks require the whole windshield to be replaced, which means scheduling and downtime, and $400 out of pocket since our deductible is $500. I've never had a crack in a windshield before on any previous car. Once, a fluke; twice, something is wrong!! This is an additional $800 onto the cost of this 5 yr old car, with only 55,000 miles.

At the 1 year mark, got a ding in the windshield on the highway. Before I could get to a place that day to have it repaired, a crack had traveled across half of the windshield. Waited until I could afford to pay the exorbitant price for a new windshield before I had it replaced. Less than 4 months later, a crack appeared down the middle beginning at the top edge that proceeded to curve to the driver side. There wasn't an obvious ding in the glass and once again no opportunity to have it repaired prior to the crack. There is either a problem with the quality of the glass or the engineering pertaining to the angle of the windshield that allows objects to affect it. I've had other makes of vehicles in the past and even a Toyota that never had cracks from dings and if they did receive a ding, they didn't crack before it was repairable. I'm very disappointed and would welcome a response from Toyota with a top quality windshield replacement at no charge.
