Power steering suddenly failed (and dash lights came on) when my wife and 6 year old son were driving down the road at highway speeds nearly causing accident. After turning car off and back on, it was restored. NHTSA Campaign ID: 15V144000 addresses this exact issue, but our VIN falls outside those included, even though it's the same model year. Dealer says they have to reproduce the issue to do anything, but with it being an ECU problem, it's nearly impossible to reproduce on demand. Opened case with Toyota Corporate and filed complaint with NHTSA in hopes of addressing this serious safety flaw.
