This sequoia has been messed up since I bought it....as-is! Driving 70mph down 485 and skid lights, vsc light comes on and car makes noise and seemed to brake on one side caused me to run off road, luckily the car beside me had sped on and nothing was close but rail. Went into spin and dented back bumper on corner. Main shake up was me...guy I purchased car from sounded astonished but he probably knew about this issue before he dumped this mess on me. Engine is strong however if you can't drive it?...I can't afford the repairs now. HELP AND GET A DAMN RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE

I really want this issue resolved. It is dangerous and there does not seem to be a consistent diagnosis from Toyota or other certified mechanics. The VSC light comes on and car jerks. When pressing the gas, car hesitates like it doesn't want to go and then it releases. This is dangerous when you are pulling out into traffic because it could cause an accident if your car hesitates.

Has anyone found a lasting and safe solution?

Sequoia Limited 4.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

While driving, the car jerked to the right at the same time a beeping sound comes on and it stops just as abruptly as it started. It seems like there was something hindering the wheels of the car. Anyone else had a problem like this?

I was driving on the interstate, when all of a sudden my 2001 Toyota Sequoia jerked to the right and the VSC traction light went on. I quickly pulled the steering wheel back and managed to get to the next rest area, where I called AAA and had it towed. Luckily we didn't crash into the car next to us or roll over. This sounds like a manufacturing problem and I am very nervous as to how much the dealer is going to want to have it fixed. Has anyone heard of a YAW problem?
