While driving 45mph the 04 Toyota Solara's sunroof exploded causing glass to fly down on top of me while driving, all inside of the car, and outside of the car chipping paint off the back trunk when the glass hit. The noise was so loud like an explosion. I didn't have the screen closed so that is why all the glass came inside. The sunroof was closed when it happened on a beautiful day with no weather concerns. Nothing hit the sunroof I was the only one on the road at the time in that area.
I contacted Toyota they are refusing to pay for the damages because they have not done a recall on it and there isn't a class action law suit yet. I filed a case with them anyway and sent in pictures. I can only be grateful my children were not in the backseat when this happened as they would of been cut by the glass and terrified. Toyota needs to step up and take responsibility for this before it happens to more people and there are serious injuries.
This was a horrible experience and I will never purchase another car with a sunroof I think I'm forever scared of them the noise alone was horrible! TOYOTA TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!!!
