Air Bag Problems Cause Recall of Mercedes-Benz E350 and E550 Vehicles
Improper stitching of air bag could cause it to be useless in a crash.

— For the second time this month, Mercedes-Benz has announced a recall on one of their vehicles.

Mercedes is recalling 2012 E350 and E550 Coupe vehicles because the right side window curtain air bag may not deploy during a crash.  The affected vehicles were manufactured April 2, 2012, through June 29, 2012.

Mercedes-Benz says improper stitching may cause the air bag to deflate more quickly than intended and not be inflated the second you need it.

Mercedes will notify owners and dealers will replace the right side window curtain air bag. The recall is expected to begin in November, 2012. Owners may contact Mercedes-Benz at 800-367-6372.

Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz said their 2013 SL-Class vehicles originally equipped with R1234yf refrigerant would be recalled because a frontal crash could cause a rupture of the air conditioner refrigerant line.  This could cause a gaseous mixture of refrigerant being released into the engine compartment with the possibility of causing a fire.
