(reported on)

Escape XLT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

Crawled under the car to check my trailer hitch light plug and noticed the rear diff dripping gear oil. Traced the drips by cleaning the diff and driving it a few miles then looking again. Dripping from the axles that connect the rear diff to the wheels.

Ford needs to fess up and take care of this problem. They know it's an issue and need to do something about it. Two mechanics have told me that this should never be a problem with a car with such low mileage.
