I purchased a 2009 Ford Escape XLT with a sunroof at Yorkdale Ford in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My wife and I were under the impression that this was a brand new SUV. And now we found out that this Escape is a DEMO-MODEL straight from the lot. The sales lady is compared to a politician, a lawyer, and a 'rip-off artist' (all-in-one) because she lied to us and was full of hot air. A few weeks after we purchased the Ford Escape, the headliner (or the interior roof) started to fall down in three areas (driver side, and both passenger sides). This situation was out of hand that even the police stopped us while we were going to work. The cop couldn't believe that it was a new SUV. The cop explained to us that we couldn't see out the back window; he was going to give us a ticket, but he did not. We called up Yorkdale Ford and we got a rental car for...TWO WEEKS!? I got the impression at that moment that my car was either made on a Monday (the assemblers are coming back from a weekend hangover) or a Friday (because they don't want to work). Yorkdale Ford took my SUV to a company that they get their sunroofs done by. They removed the headliner and replaced it with a whole new different headliner, but I don't think the guy who installed it didn't have a measuring tape because my new headliner came up too short and more plush. Now, it is coming down again two years after 2009. It is now going back to the same repair shop...again. Life is great! Yorkdale Ford is saying to us now that when we send it to the repair shop, we must pay for our rental car. Knowing that, when we purchased our car, we got a 5-year warranty on it. One day, the manager from Yorkdale Ford called us and said "How are you doin'?" We thought it was a sick joke. We did not return any more of his calls. In short, DO NOT DO THE FOLLOWING TO YOUR NEXT VEHICLE... 1. DO NOT TRUST A SALES-PERSON, 2. DO NOT GET A SUNROOF/MOONROOF UNLESS IT IS BUILT DIRECTLY FROM THE MOTHERSHIP (THE MANUFACTURER AND NOT SOME FLY-BY-NIGHTER), 3. FORD = FOUND ON ROAD DEAD, 4. IF YOU BOUGHT A FORD VEHICLE...SELL IT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AND DO NOT LOOK BACK. Good luck my friends and make sure you do not buy any Ford vehicle from any Ford dealership especially Yorkdale Ford in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
