My almost new 2011 Ford Escape is a piece of crap. My 3-year warranty expired in Nov. 2013 and the alternator and battery had to be replaced in December 2013. It was like they had planned it.
driving my car in the Baja. I had to get a jump start 3x's from Mexicans very willing to help. Thinking it was a bad battery I bought a new one when my car wouldn't start while parked in a Motel in Los Barillias, Mexico. On the way back north the next day the car wouldn't start in a gas station. Got another jump. When I returned to Loreto, Mx. I took it to a mechanic and was told the alternator had to be replaced. Which was done. So far it is continuing to work.
