premature rusting premature rusting premature rusting premature rusting

Vehicle is just over 3 years old and rust appeared on inside of doors. Had expert autobody painter look at it and the doors are rubbing against plastic moldings when shut causing paint to wear off. This is a design flaw. Ford is accountable. I also Purchased Platinum Shield protection package with rust inhibitor spray, for 120 month term, but I was told by them that because I did not purchase Environmental surface rust protection that it was not covered.

According to him at Platinum shield this is a known problem with Ford Escape and F150's and he has dealt with many. If this is a well known problem then Ford is aware of it and the dealer as well. Why at the dealership was I not informed to purchase surface rust protection at the time? This is Fraud. Also if there was no design flaw and their product was not defective it should not be doing this any way. I also own a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2007 Diesel and there is no door rust after 14 years!!!

I phoned Ford directly and talked to them about the problem and they said they would not be able to do anything for me because the warranty for this was only 3 years/ 60,000 Kilometers. My vehicle had 66,000 kilometers when I noticed it. This is out and out Fraud when you sell a product knowingly that has a problem and the consumer is not made aware of it. I am disgusted by the lack of help from Ford on this problem. I asked the guy at Platinum shield knowing about this problem if he would ever buy a Ford? He replied emphatically NO!!!!

I am now of the same opinion and would never buy another Ford either. Ford has lost my business forever if there is no resolution to this problem. If you are considering buying a Ford absolutely unequivocally DO NOT. Encourage your friends and everybody you know not to. either. DO NOT give an amoral company your business.
