CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford significantly updated the Fusion for the 2010 model year. We wish they hadn't

Throttle body issues have led to a ton of reports about a sudden deceleration and loss of power while driving. Ford issued a “customer satisfaction program” in March 2014 that, unsurprisingly, has left very few customers satisfied.

2010 is also the year we started seeing complaints about the power steering failing. Throttle and steering failure? Yeah, that’s why this is a clunker.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle hesitated when started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve (cpv) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was also taken to billy howell Ford Lincoln (1805 atlanta hwy, cumming, ga 30040, (770) 887-2311) where it was inspected per NHTSA campaign number: 15V793000 (fuel system, gasoline) in August of 2016. At that time, the contact was informed that no leaks were found on the cpv fuel tank. The contact called the dealer again, but was offered no assistance since the vehicle was previously inspected under the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
