CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

I feel the leaky shocks contributed to premature wear on rear brake pads which wore faster than front brakes. Unheard of on front wheel drive.

Fusion SE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,427 miles

I noticed the back of my car constantly bouncing excessively over bumps and making a noise over cracks in the road. I put it on a hoist and lifted it up and saw the rear shocks leaked out the fluid and were covered in oil. Took the vehicle to Ford to fix, so far my rear shocks have been on back order for 2 weeks. The work will be covered under warranty, but this is the third issue I have had with my car.
