The paint looks pretty bad. It started on the hood and is now spreading all over the car. I took it to a body shop and was told this was a bad paint job by Nissan. My dad thinks that the top coat or prime coat was not applied prior to painting the car. I have not been able to afford to pay out of pocket to re paint the car. I have a friend who has a maxima and had this same problem. I have also seen many altima & maximas while driving that have this same issue. I think that Nissan should have a recall for this problem.

The sealer came completely off of the roof and partially on the hood of the car. After the sealer was worn off, then the paint came off on the roof, down to the metal. Car was hand waxed 1-2 times a year by a professional and only went through the cloth only professional car washes.

Took car to the dealership and because it wasn't under warranty, they called Nissan to come look at the car to see what happened because they could not tell themselves. Nissan refused to come look at the car at all because it was no longer under warranty.

The car has been great mechanically, but at only 6 years old and 50k miles, this should not have happened and now I don't know that I would buy another one having to put 3k just to have the car fully repainted after this short time and little driving.

After I got my car I picked as my first brand new car, I definitely made up my mind and got good engine and good transmission, but everything else just sucked on this car as the first problem I am reporting - paint chipping. There will be a lot more. When I went back to the dealership, they stated it is not covered by any of the warranties I had and it needs to be paid - they put anti-chipping transparent tape over it and I had to pay $350 - OUTRAGEOUS!!!!
