CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2005 Nissan Altima has two fairly significant problems with the floor pan rusting through & motor mounts breaking.

Altima owners report that up to a basketball-size hole develops under the floor mats where the floor pan metal rusts through. Average repair cost is over $1,000.

The broken motor mounts are less of a problem - they break at ~75,000 miles average & it's $400 to fix. Still, motor mounts should not break!

Altima SE 3.2L V6

I was so piss off at nissan this was my third vehicle purchase from them and last. The car had all the maintenance done to keep it running, apparently too much money not enough maintenance at the service department. they wonder why people take there car to other reliable mechanics to have quality worked done. If you steering mechanism, ac/ heater, power steering seeks to function, your compressor must be replaced sooner than later. If you here rattling and hard to steer replaced it now or pay later.

Altima SE 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

Since my 30th thousand of miles on my car (altima 3.5 se '05) my steering wheel had steering wheel vibrations. Dealer tried to fix with tire balancing, alignments, replacing the wheels - nothing helped. After going there last time they gave me the number to call to request exchange of the vehicle - never got response back. Wanted to sue - had no money to throw because of the lemon I got.
