i notice the whining as most others have. I called the dealership and was told there no fix its ok to drive. well. while driving home it started stalling at red lights. i had put it in neutral so it wouldn't die just to get home with my 4 year old son. i took it to the dealership and was told it would cost $6500 for a new tranny because of the mileage and didn't have service receipts. I cant find them. I was told by the dealership that it had to be serviced at a dealer ship for it to be covered. Well I didn't want them to do it because I had enough trouble with them and really dont trust them. They pretty much screwed me from the time I bought the car and am very disappointed with them all together. I wouldn't recommend anyone to PYE NISSAN in Dalton GA. So I have to find a way to come up with the money which i dont know how. I will just have to let the finance company come pick it up because of a problem that Nissan know about but cant fix. So now Im screwed. THANKS PYE NISSAN AND NISSAN CORPORATION . YOU SUCK. I should of just bought an American made vehicle and not have to worry about this.

Altima 2.5S 2.5L 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 600 miles

There is a whining noise from CVT transmission when accelerating/slowing down. I tried another Altima on the dealer's lot and it didn't make the noise. It is annoying for now but can be a sign of more serious problem eventually. Will let dealer check it out when have time. There is also a tapping noise in cold weather (first thing in the morning after cold night) during acceleration which goes away in a few minutes after car warms up.
