I have 2011 nissan altima. Little a year after I bought it I noticed that the dashboard will feel sticky. I blame it that maybe was a liquid that we used. Although, I have to admit that my husband is OCD with what product he uses. after a while he stopped using all types of liquid and just do a mild cleaning. The melting, fast forwarding to today, has escalated to the point it is very difficult to drive during the the day because all the reflection this causes. Set aside the cosmetic issue. I went to see how to repair it and I got quoted for over $ 2000. I went online to youtube possible causes and fixes and found out there is a class suit for this but only 2008-2009. What about the new models, any advice ????

Altima 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

My dashboard is literally melting into a gooey mess inside my car. It cannot be cleaned and is just a sticky mess. Now, it is so shiny the reflection in the windshield makes driving extremely dangerous whether night or day. Any light coming in the windshield reflects off the shininess of the melting dash. Up until now I always loved my Altima and was considering upgrading to a Nissan SUV. Now, I will never purchase another Nissan knowing they do not stand behind their shotty workmanship and poor product selection.
