A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I just bought the car and mentioned it to the Dealer... I did not think it would bother me as much as it is but I know this is really going to bother me in really HOT or really COLD weather. Example: When I set the heater on 80 degrees and the fan on HI and stop at a store for a minute... shut the car off and return... When starting up the car the Heat (or anything having to do with it) is OFF. I have to turn it on ... and it's always pre-set to 75 degrees and any setting I had when leaving the car is gone. So now I have to set it back to Floor/Windshield setting and turn the Fan on HI and turn the temp to 80 degrees (if this is the setting I had it set to when shutting off the car). Had a friend with me the other day and it was a warmer day so I put it on Duel setting... My side 62 and his side 72 ... We stopped for a quick beverage break and returned to the car... when I start the car up.... You guess it... everything is OFF and I have to push the Air on or turn the dial for the speed of the fan... either way it's back on 75 degrees and single setting. So now I have to push duel setting and set mine back to where I had it and same thing with his. I see so many cars out there with worn out dials (radio or other switches) because people always using them (or over using them)... I can just see it now... My fan speed switch and other buttons worn out (so you'll never see the little pictures on each button) due to the fact I always have to push buttons each and every time I get into my car. I mention this to the Service guy when I had Fog Light installed on my car. When picking up the car I asked if they check into the problem... He looked me straight in the face and said "I went out to 5 cars in the lot and the first 3 were like yours and the other 2 where the other way". Now... I was just expecting him to say that they didn't have the time or just forgot about it and it wouldn't have been a big thing... but in my mind he just LIED to me (and I HATE lairs). *By the way... I had a loaner (same year, model & car as mine) and when setting the Heat/Air and fan speed, when returning to the car after shutting it off ... ALL the setting were where I had them set to when I shut the car off (like it should be). I told the service guy it could be a simple fuse (that keeps the memory) like the Radio/Clock. I have about 500 miles on a NEW car and as of now I ran into 2 others that had the same car as I do. I'm sure at first they thought I was a bit strange but turned their car off and on for me after explaining what happens to mine. Both cars did what the Loaner Car did... worked the RIGHT way. So... 3 to 1 right now. I haven't ran into one like mine yet!!! Just got a call today from the Dealer (they left a message) wanting to know how I like the car and if there's any problems.... ya right!! I've been through this already with their service guy. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN TELL ME IF I'M RIGHT OR WRONG?? THE FIX?? AM I TOO PICKY?? DO I JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH TURNING EVERYTHING ON EVERY TIME I ENTER THE CAR??? Thanks...

Update from May 14, 2012: MESSAGE:

I was having the exact same issue with the climate control on my 2012 Altima. It was something that I was willing to live with at first. But I started experimenting with the many rental cars I drive when traveling on business. No other vehicle did I ever have to turn the heat on each time after shutting the car off. The AC was also not cooling as it should. You are justified in being frustrated. I took my car to the dealership regarding a different issue. When the Service Manager went to hook up the diagnostic meter he discovered the "Shipping Fuse" was not pushed in all the way. It only needed to be pushed in about 1/16", but that was enough to make all the difference. Immediately the AC was cooling better, and the climate control will now save it's settings when turning the car off and on. The fuse was in a compartment under the dash. Without being in the car I cannot remember which side of the steering wheel it was located.

From Eric R ...

Hope this helps

I want to thank Eric R. for the solution on the problem I was having. It worked and only took about a minute to do. A very easy solution that the Technicians from Boucher Nissan of Waukesha couldn’t find. I think Eric R. should train some of the Technicians at Boucher Nissan of Waukesha or at least Mitch (He called and left a message letting me know that my car was the “right” way and all the others were wrong). Also there was the Guy that told me that mine was the “right” way when I ask if he was able to check it out. All in all I think they (the Technicians at Boucher Nissan of Waukesha) just didn’t want to deal or even try to figure out the problem. The thing is… it’s not even a problem and should be known by the Technicians that work at Boucher Nissan of Waukesha. Now I’m not sure if and when I take my car in for service at Boucher Nissan of Waukesha if I should pull out the fuse so Mitch or any of the other Technicians that work at Boucher Nissan of Waukesha won’t think there’s anything wrong with my car (considering I was told more than once that my car was the “right” way and the other cars were the “wrong” way). I could go on and on but I’m just happy my car is fixed… even if it was fixed by someone off the internet and not from the Technicians from Boucher Nissan of Waukesha. Can you say… “Schooling” … or more of it…
