CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2017 was redesigned with new fascia and headlights, but what will be particularly interesting to watch will be the new, direct-injected V6 engine with CVT. Nissan's history with CVTs has been shaky at best.

Pathfinder S V6

I just bought the vehicle with 70000 miles dealer did inspection I'm taking it in tomorrow to have it looked at and of course it most likely wont do it for them but I did get a picture of it. It stayed on for a good five minutes or longer until I put it in park again and reverse. But I don't know if this could be a major malfunction or if it is a software problem or if it is a failing system. Sounds like there is no answer for it. I'm aware 70000 miles is a lot but I did buy it from a reputable dealer who inspects their cars "thoroughly". Also had a problem with the lift gate not opening. I'm sure that has something to do with previous owners

I have plenty of video documentation on Google showing that my back up camera gets stuck while my Pathfinder is is drive. This problem (along with others) came after it had it's 5,000 mile oil change. Nissan has no fix for this problem and the issues continue to grow as the car gets older. The Nissan Corporation has been unwilling to help me. The solution the dealership came up with is to get me to trade in (AKA- lose my ass) and get myself back into debt with them on a brand new Pathfinder. I even paid for the extended warranty which is a real kick in the teeth. I am sure this problem seems like no big deal to them, but it is to me. It is a safety hazard. Have you ever tried to drive your car while seeing the road behind you moving? It doesn't go away either. I have to turn to car off to make it reset. You can't always pull over and turn your new car off to make it work right & you shouldn't have to-- after all, it's a NEW car!! This problem could get someone killed. Myself, my kids, another driver. That's how bad of a distraction this can be. Plus, a having a back up camera that doesn't work right defeats the purpose it was intended for-- to keep others (especially young children) from getting killed by being run over.

Pathfinder SV V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15 miles

Since purchase as new car, the backup camera has sporadically stayed on while the car is in drive, until the car is shifted out of drive. This could be for an hour or longer if you never change out of drive. Nissan has shown no interest in fixing the problem, even though other drivers have reported the same problem. This happens about once every two weeks. The car is now almost a year old. I have contacted the dealer & the national Nissan customer service.
