Grand Am 3.4L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

Yesterday I went to start my car and it won't crank. Was hoping that it was just a battery problem. Checked volts and it came out to 12.3. So battery is working fine. Checked the starter, and it works fine. The crank relay is good also. Was looking at other complaints and saw that everyone is having problems with the passlock. The thing is that my security light isn't blinking. The radio doesn't turn on, the electric lock on the car and remote don't work, trunk button doesn't work, cab and mirror lights don't work. I want to find out what is causing all of these things to go out at the same time.

Grand Am SE 3400 V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 190,000 miles

I bought a 2004 Grand Am 3400 v6 a few weeks after I bought it I had issues with it starting. Since then I have taken it to the dealer several times only for them to charge me then tell me they don't know what it is. They told me it was a bolt on my battery. New battery and bolts and still have the problem. Some days it won't start for several tries. When it does start it dies or dies while I’m driving down the freeway or backstreets. I called Pontiac and they told me to just take it to another dealer. They even made the appointment for me. Of course I do have to pay the 125.00 for them to look at it . What’s up with this. My new car warranty is up and my extended only has a few miles left on it! So I guess I’m stuck with this problem. Now I’m reading these complaints and I see allot of people are having the same problem. This is a safety problem. I guess someone will have die in an accident on the roadway before Pontiac will do the right thing and fix this problem. I'm outraged at the fact that I pay my car payments on time every month. And I’m driving in a car that is not safe for me my kids and other people on the roadways. I will never buy another GM vehicle!
