I'M SICK AND TIRED OF PAYING FOR GENERAL MOTORS MISTAKES. THIS HEATER PROBLEM IS A COMMON COMPLAINT, EVERYONE I TALK TO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM,THEREFORE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL! WHY IS THE CONSUMER STUCK WITH PAYING THE BILLS FOR GM'S MISTAKES,NO WONDER THE JAPANESE MARKET IS TAKING OVER. I HAVE BEEN A GM MAN MY ENTIRE LIFE AND BUY ALOT OF VEHICLES INCLUDING THE CORVETTE WHICH IS THIER FLAGSHIP OF CARS,BUT THEY BETTER GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER SOON OR THEY WILL BE LOSING ALOT MORE MARKET SHARE! AFTER FIXING THE HEATER ON THIS GRAND PRIX I FIND NOW THE TEMP. CONTROL DOES NOT WORK,ANYONE KNOW WHY THIS WOULD BE,THANKING YOU A. EHLER

Grand Prix GTP Comp G 3.8L SC

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,000 miles

Last summer i went out to take my Grand Prix for a drive, and it was dead. It doesn't get driven often, and spends its life in the garage. I was surprised when it didn't start, especially when i know that the car is equipped with Battery Rundown Protection. I put it on the charger and heard the fan running, and the key was in my pocket. I looked closer, and i found the fan control off, and the ignition off. I have placed a switch in the ground circuit for the blower motor and attached it to the lower IP out of sight. I have not looked at it in much detail, as i don't drive it often, and don't think about it. I saw that someone had replaced the blower motor and module, as well as repair a leak that is causing the issue. I am going to look into this issue and will report back soon. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Grand Prix GT 3800

At 79,000 miles on my grand prix the blower motor would not shut off even with the key out. I replaced the blower motor module, and 2000 miles later the same thing happened again. This time i replaced the module and blower motor. I think though i have found what everyone is looking for. The cowl is warped from the sun from poor mounting by GM. There is water pouring in from the cowl when it rains. the cabin filter sits right there collecting water and below that is the blower motor which the water is shorting out and the module. The cabin filter is full of black mold which i will be taking up with GM. SO EVERYONE OUT THERE LETS PULL TOGETHER TO GET THESE CARS RECALLED BEFORE SOMEBODY BECOMES VERY ILL. ALSO TO STOP THIS ANNOYING AND EXPENSIVE PROBLEM.

Went to start my car this morning. The battery was dead. I charged it and noticed that the fan was running as the battery was charging. Completed the charge and disconnected the charger from the battery. The blower was still running. I attempted to turn it of by turning the knob counter clockwise into the off position. The blower continues to run. I also noticed that my steering column is not locked, as it usually is when the key is out of the ignition.

I assume that this is why my battery is dead (non stoppable blower).

blower motor on high and would not shut off even with the car turned off. Purchased in Feb., problem started in July ( still under warranty). They said that the fire wall was down and maybe some water shorted out the wiring. Replaced the module.
