It seems like a pretty major repair to have occurred with only 55k miles on the car. The original price quoted to fix was a staggering $2,400. I asked the dealer to contact BMW directly to see if they'd share in the replacement cost as the car had very low mileage and I was a BMW customer with multiple cars. They agreed to lower the cost to $1,100.
