The same vintage BMW 3 series are being recalled for air bags from 2001 and forward. My vehicle is not being recalled now, but I have asked BMW North America who made my airbags to determine if my family is also at risk from the same manufacturer (takata ). after asking multiple times I have not been given an answer. I have also asked my dealer if they knew, and they said that the airbags have BMW logo and branding on them, but they do not know who actually made it. I would like BMW North America to tell me who made the airbags in my vehicle so I know the manufacturer.

I was driving home at 10:15 pm and the passenger side door mounted and passenger side head protection air bags deployed. I called BMW the following morning to report it and see what I should do. I was told I would get a return call within 1-3 business days. I have left 2 messages and BMW still has not called me back.

I brought the vehicle into brecht dealership in escondido to address seatbelt safety/airbag sensor light warning. The vehicle has been in for repair a total of eight (8) times for the same issue. Today the seatbelt airbag warning devise came on with the loaner provided bydealer with a screen statement: Warning danger keep your seatbelt on and return to shop for repair. This is a 20014 vehicle. I believe this entire issue of seatbelt airbag safety is a manufacturer defect and warrants full investigation before a grandchild seated in the passenger seat is killed from an airbag improperly ejecting or even worse nothing no airbag or seat belt protection in an accident.

I am the original owner on a BMW 99 E46 328I and I M very diligent when it comes to the care of my car. I have made sure that every recall has been taken care of and any service requirement met. But my car was serviced three times for the air bag light coming on the first two times the dealer took care of it because the car was under warranty the third time I had to pay and now eight months later the airbag lights is on again after doing some research I have found that I am not the only one experiencing this problem all the BMW model line are experiencing this issue BMW issued a technical bulletin about electrical connectors that get oxidized and fail over time. They provide a solution in the bulletin but it is temporary fix since it requires me go back every six to eight months right. I submitted this complaint because. It feels like extortions that that every time the airbag light turns on I have to run to the dealer just to turn it off or run the risk that the airbags will not work when my life depends on it. www.unofficialbmw.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&F=2&T=008967.
