The dealer (tom bush BMW orange park, 6914 blanding blvd, jacksonville, fl 32244) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

When driving, the smell of burning or melting plastic is so strong, I have to roll down the windows. The smell occurs about 5 times a week and can be smelled both inside and outside the car. It occurs at various times...on the freeway, on surface streets, stopped at a red light etc. There is a safety recall, for positive crankcase ventilation(PCV) valve heater, but they don't have a plan or method of fixing this. Since it can lead to a fire, it needs to be fixed, but the dealership has no information about even how to fix the problem. The website and letter tells you to call the local dealership but they tell you to contact BMW North America, however they don't answer the phone. The service supervisor at the local BMW dealer ship in glendale ca has not returned my messages and the number they refer me to, BMW North America at 800.831.1117 just keeps ringing...no answer. I don't feel safe inhaling the plastic fumes and it could lead to my car catching on fire. BMW needs toanswer questions and provide customer service rather than referring me to advertisements to purchase a new BMW. (that is what happens on their "recall" website). I would like them to provide a car and keep my car at the dealership until they figure this out. I think they would find a solution very quickly if they had to provide alternator transportation. Thank you for your help!

Takata recall the first complaint is that I am afraid to drive or allow anyone to drive a car with this airbag recall which has in some cases resulted in serious injuries or death. The car is thus parked in the garage while the dealer tells me they can't get the car in for repairs for 6 weeks at least which is unacceptable. Secondly, there are two additiona recalls that have no "fix" at this point which could also result in serious injury or death. I am at a loss for what to do with this vehicle. It is a hazard and completely useless for the purpose for which it was intended. The two additional recalls are both fire hazards and are not correctable at this juncture. This is unacceptable.

I received a letter in the mail that there may be a recall on the airbags in my car. I used the website given to check for any recalls. It said the blower motor on my car has a recall notice and I needed to call my local dealership. I called and they checked their data base and verified my car indeed does have a recall that could potintially cause fire. However BMW usa has not provided replacement parts. So they would not be able to fix the problem.

Both puget sound area dealers were totally indifferent about life treating recall notices, upon calling in in mid 2017' I was asked what recalls are you calling about and both did not give any in formation when I said I heard there was a recall. Nothing we can do to help you now check back later I was told. In November when I called back I was again greeted with surprise that that there was a recall at seattle dealership and asked me to be specific on a exact recall that maybe in effect. After giving exacte required detailed recall info on this life treating defective recalli was told they don't have any parts and to check back next year! where the hell is the Washington state attorney general? this is a disgrace and BMW in my view should be spender from selling cars in Washington state until they make this right. One death would cost far more than all the jerking around and bad will they are causing today! I'm writing this because I'm concerned about living, and have no pictures to post. Can not allow how the government allows a major car company to get away with this, total disgrace!

Serpentine drive belt broke during highway driving, power steering immediately lost. Belt replaced; after 2000 miles belt was found to be frayed and severely worn. Belt was replaced a second time. Belt then broke a third time after 8000 while driving, same conditions and symptoms. Diagnosed as damage to the drive belt and power steering pulley due to insufficient clearance with the front subframe. BMW has had a tsb for the issue since 2008 (si B11 09 08) for all E90 series with N54 engines (135I, 335I) up to 04/08 production; recommended repair for vehicles that had subframe contact with the pulley is to replace front subframe with updated part -- no warranty extension or recall at present for affected vehicles, covered under new warranty only. Owner eventually replaced subframe with updated one out of pocket.

2 complaints: 1st complaint addresses "takata recall" dated Feb. 5, 2016 recall campaign no.16V-071 driver's front air bag. Service center "otto's" in West chester, pa still has not received the parts going on 2yrs. * 2nd complaint engine shut off while driving (55mph) on a busy interstate highway during heavy traffic with no warning the engine just shut off- no power!. it was a humid summer (July) morning BMW fault could have killed many, a very dangerous public safety hazard. I was stranded for hours unable to drive BMW. *adding insult to injury the high humidity could have set-off the airbag fault unresolved by BMW 18 months & counting. Otto's service center wanted almost $4K to repair plus an additional hefty sum under advisement for repairs to repair the work they completed less than a year ago (>$3K) for engine leaking oil - car over-heating

I was turning on to a highway, as I accelerated to match the speed of oncoming traffic and merge, the engine power abruptly degraded. I had to swerve out of the lane to avoid an accident. The vehicle had a flashing service engine light and was not producing any power. I had the vehicle towed to park ave. BMW in NJ. The dealer diagnosed my vehicle with a failed dme (engine management computer or ECU) at less than 60K. After doing some research I found many others BMW N54 engine owners online who had encountered the same dme failure. It turns out an electrical component that costs a couple of cents was prematurely failing. This was known to BMW in 2007 when the vehicle was being sold. The BMW service builtin si B 12 18 07 clearly indicates that this is an unexpected failure and is caused by a defective diode. Further more the issue can damage coils and fuel injectors costing thousands of dollars. Replacing coils, injectors, and the dme can exceed $5000. Further more BMW chose no to be proactive and replace the component, instead they put peoples lives at risk, at best their benefiting from their own lack of quality.

BMW 335I 2007 has (X3)three times now, the vehicle was traveling during the daylight hours at highways speeds of 65-70mph in the number 1 far left lane of (ca 101 fwy) in may of 2016 when the vehicle displayed 'engine temperature was high, and that the car needed to be driven at a moderate speed'. immediately took my foot off the accelerator and began to coast in idle state to the shoulder (ca 101 fwy) 5 lanes over. Before I was able to move to the 3rd lane the vehicle stated 'engine to hot', turned off, lost power (much like if you run out of gas), and I frightfully merged creeping along to the shoulder narrowly missed being hit by several other trucks and vehicles. I went to lift the hood, expecting to be overwhelmed by heat and conditions that would cause a BMW to disable suddenly and lose power. I observed no conditions of heat or unusual to cause a shut down. I was able to turn car on again in 10 minutes with no problems the temperature was no different or warmer than I have ever felt before, conditions were 72/, traffic was moving along at a good flow, with light cool bay area breeze. This has occurred 3times now, I have filled the coolant, I have had the starter and battery replaced and yet the same occurrence comes up. Upon car system notification that a headlight malfunction was noted I open the headlight access door on the dynamic projection headlamp to inspect and replace the bulb. At this time I noticed large amounts exposed wiring going from the connector to the main harness. As I continued to inspect the wiring the insulating material around the wires continued to crumble exposing more wiring. This is true for both left and right headlights, both headlamps have sealed access doors and is concerning for.electrical short or fire hazards in/near the high heat generated from.the lamps and or engine compartment.
