This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
While driving home from work I noticed a burning smell and a few minutes later saw smoke from the passenger seat and a hole burnt in the seat. The dealership says they repaired a connector and gives no further description. This repair is not documented on the receipt and the damage to the seat has not been repaired and the seat cover is not available according to the dealer. I will have to wait possibly several months for the repair to be complete. No one was sitting in the passenger seat and the heated seats were not turned on, however, this could have caused serious bodily harm.
