The contact owns a 2006 BMW 750li. The contact stated that the passenger seat mat occupancy sensor bypass was faulty and the warning indicator illuminated. Days later, the driver's side mat warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to classic BMW (6800 dallas pkwy, plano, tx 75024, (214) 778-2600) where it was diagnosed that the passenger side mat sensor needed to repaired; however, there was no repair for the driver's side. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 157,000.

Driver side occupant detection mat is not functioning according to the dealer. The passenger side mat has been previously recalled on this vehicle. The airbag light is continuously on and the I drive car data shows passenger mat is not working. But the dealer says the driver side is out somehow. From what I understand the mat disables the airbag when there is insufficient weight applied.

I purchased the car from a dealer in Virginia. Maybe a few weeks later the airbag waarning light came N the screen. I have not been able to drive it becasue when I went to take it to get looked at by a BMW repair person told me that there was a recall on that same issue and the dealer should not have sold me the car without telling me that information. He then told me it is the ( seat occupancy detector passenger side and resistence to high firing circuit, belt tensioner passenger side. He said to call BMW so I did and they told me that the recall repair time expire a year before I purchased the car. No one ever shared this information with me and now it is not safe to have my kids or husband in the passenger seat because of this problem.. BMW should have extended that if it was never done when they originally sent out the notice to whom ever had the vehicle before. If something isnt done from the reall knowing its a safelty issue then it should be extended until repaired. It is not safe to drive the vehicle and its a large bill for me to repair something that was already recalled

Trouble light shows-- passenger restraint system. My mechanic diagnosed it as a defective seat module sensor in the front passenger seat. His cost of repair is $1,200 with no assurances that the problem will be resolved due to the takata air bag response to this sensor.

Drivers seat sensor mat malfunction light came on. When this light is on the airbags will not deploy in the event of an accident. I did research and found that this is a on going issue on this vehicle. Please help save lives by authorizing a recall.

BMW have a recall on 2006 BMW 750li passenger seat mat, this defect will keep the air bag from deploying during an accident. But in most BMW, from friends of mine the driver seat mat is the one that defective on a regular bases but BMW is avoiding the repair, this defect can a will cause someone their life. The recall# 13V564000 for the passenger seat mat, but the driver seat mat is the problem. My drive seat mat is broken my car only have 72000 miles on the car, BMW is avoiding the repair. Correct now or some one will die soon, because of this defect.....updated 04/23/15

The seat sensor is failing on the driver side reporting a driver restraint system fault. Causing error of airbag system. Possibly due to massage seat leaking. Read numerous reports about same error fault on bimmerfest.com forums.
