I purchased the car from a dealer in Virginia. Maybe a few weeks later the airbag waarning light came N the screen. I have not been able to drive it becasue when I went to take it to get looked at by a BMW repair person told me that there was a recall on that same issue and the dealer should not have sold me the car without telling me that information. He then told me it is the ( seat occupancy detector passenger side and resistence to high firing circuit, belt tensioner passenger side. He said to call BMW so I did and they told me that the recall repair time expire a year before I purchased the car. No one ever shared this information with me and now it is not safe to have my kids or husband in the passenger seat because of this problem.. BMW should have extended that if it was never done when they originally sent out the notice to whom ever had the vehicle before. If something isnt done from the reall knowing its a safelty issue then it should be extended until repaired. It is not safe to drive the vehicle and its a large bill for me to repair something that was already recalled
The airbag light is on and seat belt light is on, I can't get them off, and I don't know what the problem is, the dash board has both light on the over head seatbelt light is on that say the passenger airbag is off and I never turn it off can I get some help with this problem, no one send me nothing on a recall of my vehicle.

Warning message appears for driver restraint system failure for driver seat tensioner. Identical to passenger seat restraint warning that was recalled only difference is that it is for the drivers side.
On date in question my girlfriend sat down on the passenger seat and a red light appeared on my dash board. I took my veh to the dealer and was told it wasn't a warrantee issue and it would cost me approx $1500 also I was told my airbags would not work. I decided not to fix the problem. Several months later I received a recall notice for this same issue. I immediately call the dealer and informed them that I received a recall for this issue and I was told that I have to wait for another letter. I'm concerned about my safety, why is it taking so long for this letter from BMW of North America.
