The engine in this car (N63) has major flaws. At anytime while driving this engine can stall or reduce power. There are issues with the timing chains, fuel injectors, vanos system and other electrical engine parts. This car has been in for service a total of 57 days since April 2014 for engine failure. This car when fails will reduce power or shut down and you have no power to get out of the way of traffic. BMW fails to correct this problem. BMW is currently replacing some of the parts that they think might have some effect but not all dealers are assisting consumers and BMW will not recall this. This is a major safety issue as this N63 engine is used in all BMW vehicles fitted with a V8.

At 57,000 miles, my 2010 BMW 750li needed 6 out of 8 fuel injectors replaced. The fuel injectors for the N63 engine platform have been redesigned multiple times due to a high rate of part failure. The parts were poorly designed, and are failing prematurely on vehicles. BMW refuses to acknowledge the faulty fuel injectors and should properly issue a recall.

I was driving a BMW 750li 2010 on the freeway 70mph. Without warning, the engine stopped and the entire electrical system went off. I steered the car quickly to the shoulder. I only had enough momentum to pull my car to the side of the road. All systems were non responsive. I was unable to place the car in neutral for the tow truck. I was unable to call for assistance via the vehicles call system. I would have to assume that all the systems active safety equipment were useless since I had no power.

While driving on the parking lot the vehicle suddenly jerking around and engine stopped. When tried to run the engine it was shaking tremendously and engine was not running. So I towed it to the dealer next morning for repair. After repair was done which took a week I drove it for about 40 minutes and then when I applied the brake it was shaking alot again every time I was applying brake. I for somehow avoiding all stop sign by driving carefully, took the car home and took it to the dealer next morning at which time it was shaking tremendously or sometime moving forward fast(jerking move) when I applied brake or step on gas pedal.
