The passenger occupancy sensor is defective and chimes continuously when unoccupied. The only way to disarm the chime is to buckle the passenger seat belt which activates the passenger airbags. Since this vehicle currently has several airbag recalls on it, the defective occupancy sensor creates a dangerous situation for myself and other owners of this same make and model.
Warning message appeared: Restraint system malfunction! fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Also driver's electric seat control not working.
