I was left stranded with a dead battery, which was still under warranty and was replaced for free. This was the fourth time the battery was replaced. No solution was suggested. I kept telling the repair people there is something wrong with the car that is draining the battery. I accepted the new battery and that was that.

LaCrosse CXL 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I've had the problem for about 2 years and now on third battery (factory, replacement and warranty replacement of it). Car and battery will be fine for 3-4 four months and then when car is used for multiple short trips and stops the battery will be dead the next morning. Sometimes the message readout says "Battery Saver". I've tried disconnecting aftermarket accessories but nothing has prevented re occurrence.

Update from Jan 20, 2012: Appears that by replacing the alternator I fixed the problem.
