The contact stated that the relay switch was replaced on several occasions, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the relay switch needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14V755000 (exterior lighting) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was 40,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while reversing out of a driveway, the running lights and headlights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the headlight module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired.
