seat belts / air bags problem
Purchased 8/19/16 no issues. All of a sudden (8/25/16) passenger air bag light starting going on and off with passenger seating in seat. Was told by Dealer when purchased there were no recalls on the vehicle and no reported problems with any systems. Well, we now know this is incorrect. It should be the responsibility of GM to fix this issue as it is a major defect if the passenger is not protected by the air bag deployment!
I have been a life long GM owner and am appalled that something this urgent has not been addressed!
I lived on a fixed income so to have this repaired would be a major hardship and it shouldn't be the consumers problem. Its a SAFETY issue that can cause the death of a person!

The passenger red air bag symbol light goes on/off at the instrument panel randomly. It happens with and without a passenger. It started a few years ago. I was told the fix would be expensive. The dealer did not say if it was just a light problem or if the air bag would not work if I had an accident. Buick needs to recall.

Air bag light came on after having a 6 pack of beer on my passenger seat. Took the beer off the seat but the light stayed on. While "Googling" this issue I found this website and others had the same complaint, so I thought I would add my two cents here. I have yet to call the dealer as this happened after 5pm and service closes at 5. Will update later.

I bought extended warranty through Route 66, and was shocked to find out they don't cover anything to do with restraint system. Something that major should be fixed by Buick under a recall.
Update from Aug 31, 2015: Dealer wants $1200. To fix.

I bought this car 3 months ago. The airbag light has been coming on and off. I took it back to the dealer. It is not covered under the warranty. They wanted 215 dollars just to look at it. It should be illegal to sell a car that is unsafe. GM should recall car has only 39,000 miles.
