LaCrosse 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,000 miles

Purchased this vehicle used 3 weeks ago. Loved it until tonight. I moved the car out of the garage and shut it off. When my husband tried to start it to move it back in the garage later on this is what happened. He stepped on the brake and push the push button start. The car wouldn't start. It started clicking on and off then the inside and outside lights all started to go on and off. Nothing we tried would stop the car from clicking and flashing. We unhooked the battery to stop it. The car will not start at all now or click but the lights will start to flash and the check engine light is on along with several other things flashing up on the display screen. We will be calling a wrecker on Monday and have it hauled into a local Buick dealer in Alma, Mi to have it hopefully repaired.

battery makes clicking noise when trying to start

I've loved my Lacrosse from the beginning. No problems encountered. Kept up with oil changes and services suggested. Last month my husband called and said the car wouldn't stop. He called OnStar and they were unable to remote start it and had to call for a jump. A few weeks later, the same thing happened and we called for a jump While waiting, my husband read in the manual that the car was equipped with an automatic jump start. When the car wouldn't start 3 days ago, we tried the autojump and it worked. Had to do the same thing yesterday because it wouldn't start AGAIN. Now here's the thing, when you turn the key to the run position, everything comes on, i.e. lights, windows up and down, etc. but when you turn the key, the battery just clicks and won't turn over. Had the battery checked and it's fine. Called GM recall number and reported it.
