mass air flow sensors quits with no warning on the dash

Valentines Day 2013 the Mass Air Flow Sensor went out causing my car to not start requiring a towing truck visit. Was misdiagnosed as battery and jump started. I was on my way to the dealership to get my 3 years left on my battery warranty when the engine quit 1/2 mile from the freeway. The risk of death is inexcusable. No warnings or flashing lights came on at any time while the engine was running. My low oil light stays on while the engine is running. Why isn't there a sensor problem warning?

At this time I learned that General Motors has changed the vocabulary from the "check engine light" to the rewording on the dash to read service engine. The dealership people still use the wrong vocabulary. When asked if the check engine light came on, my answer was no. But then, no warning at all came on. I still run cold remembering that day. The car had to be towed wherein the tow truck driver mounted my car onto the slab with it elevated nearly vertical to the ground and then got distracted and took his finger off the controls and the car and the plate slammed down onto the truck frame breaking a motor mount. Transmission problems followed that and the temperature gauge went out in the dash. The dealership wouldn't even discuss the possibility that the towing company damaged my car but didn't tell me until 16 months later after being pressured that they have a policy stating that they don't get involved in these things.

This is an ongoing nightmare which will probably require a court action against an incompetent and hostile towing company. Thank you GM for making a car that doesn't talk to me like all my others of 50 years did!!!
