I own 2 1999 Cadillac Deville's. one in NY & one in fl. Both vehicles had the exact same problem. The power steering pump had to be replaced in both cars because of a grinding and difficulty in steering. This seems to be due to a defect that should have been recalled by General Motors, and I should be reimbursed my cost of about $1000. For both repairs.
Car makes a groaning noise when turning left to right. Sounds like it's coming from the front end steering system. Also, it sounds like metal to metal. Took it to the dealer and they could not identify the problem. They said to wait until it became worse.

GM has yet to fix and in fact they have a service bulletin to dealers saying this is a steering problem and do not attemt to fix at this time. Car still under factory warranty.
