The contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Deville. The contact observed fuel leaking from the front of the vehicle without warning. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the valve cover gasket failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.
Main computer failed while driving causing total loss of power. One pin was bad in the computer that controls the cars fuel, engine, etc. Replaced the defective computer costing over $1,000. Prior to the failure the check engine light came on many times. The computer did not store a code for this problem. This total loss of power is a costly safety issue.

The contact stated that the fuel filler tube corroded and as a result, it prevented the gas cap from completely closing causing the check engine warning light to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnose that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
