The vehicle was taken to be repaired at Goodyear where the rear passenger and driver side regulators and motors were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the cable and motors needed to be replaced in all three windows. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,885.
Rear passenger window made a popping noise and the window fell into the door and wouldn't raise back up. Secure windows are a very important personal safety issue, and this could be very dangerous situation if one is driving in inclement weather.

Over the past 26 months, each of the windows (4) in my 2004 Cadillac de ville. 4 dr sdn, VIN [xxx], has had the window regulator broken and had to be replaced.. this has happened as the window was opened with no prior warning. We were parked waiting to pick up a friend and heard a noise that sounded like someone had thrown a stone at our driver side window. The window dropped down approximately two inches, and wouldn't go back up. The cable mechanism that operates the window broke. Now we have had a total of three that have broken in the same manner, with the same sound and window dropping down. Repair man said the problem is a faulty design and carries a repair cost of over $395 each.
The power windows in my 2004 Deville one window per year has just gone bad the motor for the power window had to be replaced and it has cost me $300 per window. So far three windows have gone out and I am now waiting for the fourth and hopefully final window to go out at a cost of $1,200.

Prior to the failure, both the front driver and passenger windows experienced the same failure. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The current mileage was 16,800 and failure mileage was 13,000.
