After purchasing Caddy, we were driving home and realized air conditioning not very cold. I thought it might need a charge, no big deal. Recharged and was cold a day. Then it was not cold again. One more problem with six year old Cadillac. I am well on my way to not liking this car very much.

Update from Mar 22, 2017: Car was missing ac line caps under hood. Replaced them and will try charging soon.

Ever since I purchased the car the a/c has not worked properly. It blows warm air. I also had an occasion had the defroster not work on really icy days. We took it to the dealer several times and they would tell us there was nothing wrong. I recently was looking at one of the repair statements and it stated could not replicate the problem. We finally contacted GM and they contacted the dealer and asked for them to put the car on their diagnostic machine pro gratis. This of course was after warranty was expired. Miraculously it was then determined that the module that controls the a/c was bad and would fix for several hundred dollars. GM asked the dealer to fix once again pro gratis but they refused. I have seen several of the same complaint regarding the 2011 SRX. Some were recalled for this same problem but it said that mine was not by checking the VIN.

In local driving range of 30 min to an hour, you may not notice whether a/c is working or not. However, when it goes over 2 to 3 hours a/c is not working properly in any mode, auto or manual. The only option is to make it work is either shut down the car a little bit or turn off the a/c and turn it back on little after.

It is recalled by GM. However, when you call them they are not voluntarily admit it, they said I may have to pay for the diagnose at the dealer. Absurd!! This is my last GM I'm ever gonna drive.

Diving along on 3.5 hr trip. After about two hours the car starts getting hotter. We turn down the AC then it starts getting hot again. We turn up the fan same thing. Finally we pull over and let it sit for 20 minuets. Start it up and it works with no problems. This has happened before on road trips. It's almost like the thing ices over trying to work so hard. Then you let it sit, water pours out like when the AC is on (or like thawing a freezer) then off you go again and it works.

I bought the SRX as a luxury vehicle but the off and on again A/C problems make it a poor selection. I never had an air conditioning problem with any vehicle in my life until this vehicle. For instance, the A/C won't work if the car sits for a couple days. Trouble is by the time you get to the dealer for some service, the problem corrects itself and the air starts working. But for that hour ride, you are in the heat and humidity of south Florida and not a pleasant experience.

I have had my ac fixed four times! I went thru the states lemon law process to have GM buy back my car but I'd rather have them replace my car. After way too much trouble on my part I find out today that they will be charging me $8,000 for the mileage on the car!!! What kind of crap is this?!?! So either take the money and try to find a new car or get it replaced with a "comparable" car and have to refinance it for 8K more.

This is the truest form of the big guy crapping on the little guy.

Yes, we are a military family, and no the legal office on the base won't represent us in civil matters like this.

BTW... the four repairs don't include five more "sorry, we can't duplicate the problem" times that I have taken off to take the car to the dealer.

What a surprise! I thought buying an American car was a good thing!
