Yes, I have the moisture problem and issues ranted on in previous complaints. I'll just add details of my personal experience. I am an older (approaching elderly) female, disabled with a severely disabled spouse, moderately disabled adult son AND 4 young grandsons. My mission in life is the transportion of those people on a daily basis to a variety of locations. I choose to drive this vehicle and brand for SAFETY and security, along with the service perks that come with it. Indeed.

Moisture has been noted in my headlights since purchase 10/18. At each maintenance appointment I've brought it up~I've been told not to be concerned~normal condensation I'm told (not in my 46 year driving history but we TRUST these guys). So my drivers side headlight went out, that I'm 100% aware of, at approximately 5am while taking my son to work... I was struggling to see, on my second stop the clerk came out of the store to check it, point it out to me, they'd noticed when I pulled in. It seemed to come back on later~it was working on pickup of the kid. Okay. A fluke I'm thinking? Apparently not.

The next morning @ 8am when I went for my planned (scheduled a week prior) annual inspection in order to get my license plate sticker. Surprise! No headlight. Failed inspection. I was informed only the dealership could work on the lights, it wasn't as easy as changing a bulb due to electronics & casing access. I went straight home, called my dealer for a quote. With labor: $614.00. I flipped out. Folks, I am on a fixed income-suddenly a parent again-ill-IT'S CHRISTMAS...!! I could barely swing the tag and... you want WHAT??! After many calls, much searching and more than a lot of help I find the parts I'm told I need independently under $100, dealer agrees they'll put them in (big surprise), a benefactor is kind enough to cover costs to a logical point~we will get this done under $300. Let's bite the insurance bullet and get the tailgate repair done at the same time~total relief.

I dropped the car off at 9:30am...10ish I got a call asking about regular maintenance being done... and all is good. Until 5:05pm. That is when THE CALL comes in. The bulb and ballast brought in won't do it. The igniter is shorted~the entire wiring is shorted~the whole unit must be replaced. The entire assembly. There is two inches of water in the thing. Cost? $1575 +/-, someone posted the correct number above. Ofcourse, you know the other light is in the exact condition, it just hasn't blown yet. It will. What I am now faced with? Parking that vehicle in the driveway way for...who knows...a year perhaps before I have the kind of money they are asking. No light~no inspection~NO TAG. It's a lump of metal with a monthly note and high insurance payment. We will be completely without transportation, 10 miles from nowhere.

WHAT MAKES ME MOST FURIOUS is that, as you may have noted, at NO POINT in the half dozen +/- calls between myself and my dedicated caddyguy did he say "Ms Stewart, yes, there's a problem with the SRX headlights" and let's go ahead and get to what is most likely the heart of the issue rather than do the dance we did for almost 2 weeks before scheduling the appointment. When confronted with this~and I was very polite~I received silence at first then denial. I even pointed out the last Tech Bulletin on the subject was release 6 days ago~DON'T YOU GET THESE? As that call went on it was clear he of course knew. It's hard to remember a lie and keep it all straight when you know that they know that you know that they know you are lying!! I raise men, 9 so far.

I imagine it isn't his decision not to inform customers, even little old ladies. He let slip enough information that I've called Cadillac, I nailed them as I did my dealer: where is my letter about repair reimbursement?? Where are my technical alerts? Safety alerts? I have a 'case number' now.

There ARE replacements available online IF your repair person will agree to use them. You can do both under $500, price dependent on HID or halogen, of course IF your repairman will agree to use them. I could have had these here yesterday...

I'm still waiting for a 'decision'...2 1/2 days later...to what I do not know. They've asked me to quite calling. The referenced tailgate issue allowed for a rental so at this moment I have a car WITH a tag but guess what probably happens come Christmas Eve...

Cadillac needs to do the right thing. If anyone believes I am going to just quietly suffer? Quite wrong. I will be on the phone calling any and every consumer advocate on the planet until we have this fixed!!!

Fixing this issue, for all SRX drivers, will be much more economical than the cost to GM should four little boys lose their Booshka due to known yet disregarded safety issues.

You'll be hearing from me again as soon as I have quality updates.

Moisture in the headlights seem to be a very common issue. I have read bunches of stories about this problem. I can not believe that nothing is being done about it. No recalls or help from GMC to fix this problem. Very upset about this. It cost anywhere between $2700 to $3300 to replace both headlights. Or I can replace the bulbs for $125 each but they will burn out again.

This is the first time that I have ever had problems with moisture in my headlights on any of my cars. It is so bad that I can not see at night and I have to put my brights on to be able to see. This has been reported by several owners on this car and no recall which I do not understand why GM will not take any action. Someone could be killed!!!!

moisture in headlight

Same issue here I purchased my used 2011 Cadilic SRX Premium package on Feb. 2nd and within 5 days and a few days of rain noticed moisture in the light on the drivers side. The very next day the headlight went out so had my Machanic replace the bulb but that didn't work so had to order the entire headlamp assembly. It was installed on Feb. 15th and worked fine however within 3 days again seen moisture in the headlight again. Rain came once again and on Feb. 21st the same headlight went out again then the very next day the passenger headlight went out. So now I have a car that has NO HEADLIGHTS!!! To costly to replace these damn headlights every time it rains. GM needs to recall these damn headlights

Update from Feb 27, 2018: I have replaced BOTH driver and passenger side entire headlamp assembly again on 2/25/18 and my Machanic used clear silicone around the entire headlight on both. We are expected to have more rain over the next few days so we will see if this will help at all. This is just crazy to me that they have not yet done a Recall on these lights as it is a well known ISSUE and needs to be addressed by GM!!!!
