2012 SRX under 70,000 miles, dealer tells me compressor is bad. How does a compressor just go bad? I'd imagine a pressure sensor is faulty, or control valve on the compressor. It did shut down the radiator fan and the seat cooling air, but all other items seem to function properly. No codes show up on my personal obd2 scanner and freon levels are in correct range. No more Cadillac for us, they are not what they used to be.

The air conditioning stopped. I am not sure if this is somehow linked to all of the other issues I am having with the car but this issue has also been documented by a large number of owners with no resolution offered by GM. The 2011 had a recall but no help for the 2012 owners. I will NEVER buy another vehicle from GM and you can be sure I am just getting started with getting my experience out to social media.

Update from Oct 17, 2019: Fixed the AC in late 2018. The first time I needed to use the AC in the summer of 2019 it was not working again. I have put thousands into this vehicle. Never again GM.

SRX Luxury V6

This is the 3rd SRX that I purchased new since 2004. The first two were great cars but this one is showing how far Cadillac's quality and customer care are falling. Since the warranty expired several failures that have occurred that, in my opinion, should only happen when the car is much older or have much more mileage. The air conditioning has failed (at 65K miles), rear view camera failed (70K miles) and the headlight seal failed (70K miles). Cadillac's customer service (or lack thereof) shows no interest in taking care of these problems.

I had planned to buy one of the new Cadillac XT5s until it became very apparent that Cadillac does not stand behind their product or care about their longtime, loyal customers. Will be replacing this vehicle with a new BMW X5.

I bought a 2011 Cadillac SRX and traded in within 8 months. A/c problem for months. Got me a 2012 Cadillac SRX in Oct 2011 and just started with the same problem. A/c not working. When I travel, it stops working while in the highway. Once we stop and let the car rest, it starts to work for a while. This was the same problem I had with the 2011. I'm angry.. I lost money with the trade in, and here I go again. A/c is the worse problem, specially living in south Texas.
