We have a 2014 Cadillac we bought used a year ago. The low beam headlights luminosity has deteriorated to the point that is unsafe, actual dangerous to drive at night. I have attached two pictures that I took. One is my Nissan Altima showing normal projection and the Cadillac Srx which clearly shows it is unsafe to drive at night. The dealer and Cadillac refuse to acknowledge there is an issue and will do nothing. Research clearly shows this to be an issue in 2010 to 2015 Cadillac. Class action lawsuits have been files in multiple states. I cannot in good conscience let my wife drive it at night and she states she is afraid to do so. I believe the folks at nhsta should issue a recall before people are hurt in accident. Thank you.
When driving at night and you are using low beam head lights because of traffic the head lights do not put out enough light to see the road. Many other owners of these cars have the same problem. The low beam head light is way to dim and not much brighter the the day time driving lights. When comparing this model car to others side by side on low beam this model is less than half as bright as the other models on low beams. Cadillac and the local dealer say nothing can be done for improvement. This is a major safety issue.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. While driving various speeds or while the vehicle was stationary, the headlights were dim. The contact stated that it was difficult to drive the vehicle due to poor visibility. Hennessy Cadillac (3377 satellite blvd, duluth, ga 30096, (770) 680-7000) was contacted and stated that it was a common failure and that the head lamp assembly needed to be replaced on both sides. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,876.
Dim headlights are very low. Very unsafe to drive at night with dim lights on. We have noticed that the blinker is brighter than the actual lights. Very low visability. When driving I often think the lights are not on when they are on low beam. Would not be able to see a child or animal (or any object) in path of vehicle when driving at night. Our Srx is black so I'm also concerned about other vehicles seeing us at night w/such poor lighting. Total defect in design. My husband will drive it at night, but I refuse to.
Headlights on this vehicle are horrible, they do not illuminate 5 feet in front of the hood. This poses a severe danger when driving at night. Apparently Cadillac is not issuing a recall even though there are lots of complaints and is a known problem. I believe there is also a class action law suit. They need to fix the headlights. Its only a matter of time before an accident happens if it hasn't already. Very dangerous.

Headlignts are so dim on my vehicle, which is dangerous when driving at night. I have to use my bright lights. I have gone to the actual Cadillac sewell dealership, they agreed with me that the lights on both headlights are way too dim. I asked them to place a brighter lightbulb, but they said they would be unable to do that since it's an electrical issue with the entire light fixture. They said it was common with this make and model, and replacing the entire light fixture was $1500 per headlight, making $3000 to make headlights safe for night driving. It appears this is a manufacturing issue, they are trying to make the consumer pay for for a problem not caused by the consumer. They mentioned they have been seeing this issue with many of my car and make.
While driving through the neighborhood at night, the car has a feature to switch between high beam headlights and low beam headlights. The feature works fine, however, the difference between the high beam light and the low beam light is extremely dramatic and this makes it almost impossible for a persons eyes to readjust and Focus to see at the low beam setting. The low beam lights are dangerously dim. They do not illuminate the stop signs as the driver approaches. I had to slow down to a dangerously slow speed in order to see the street signs. I bought the car 5 days ago used and didn't realize that this was a problem for this particular car. In the past 4 days, I have had the car back to the dealer 3 times to see if they can help get the low beams any brighter. They cannot!! the service manager came out to talk with me and showed me pictures of the 'housing' for the low beam lights and there are metal brackets in the way of the light, which he explained will force the light to cast too far down. This is why street signs are impossible to read at night while driving this car. Please recall it and fix this problem! the service manager did not give me a copy of the pictures or I would include them...
When driving, the low beam headlights are extremely dim, especially at night. It is very difficult to even tell if they are on. High beams are fine. Driving at night has become very dangerous due to low visibility from dim lights. This has been getting progressively worse over the past ~ 6 months.
Vehicle driving headlights provide extremely low level of road illumination which is extremely dangerous such that it is necessary to switch to high beam in order to illuminate the road sufficiently to drive safely! Cadillac dealership states that the lighting level is acceptable. As you know, driving with high beams can be dangerous as well when on local roads and neighborhoods in order to see the road safely.
Low beam headlights became very dim while driving 5 hour back from North Florida. I could not see the road unless I turned on the high beams.the headlights were very dim making it unsafe to drive at night. I took the car to the dealer and was advised it would cast $1,600 to replace two low beam light bulbs with the same bulb that were failing after 4 years of use. Looking online, I found that other Srx owner that paid for this repair experienced that the headlight replacement was either a short term fix, 3 to 6 months or it does not correct the issue at all. Continuing to drive this car at night would be a severe danger and will certainly end in a crash. Causing injury or death. Either by blinding oncoming traffic with high beams for not being able to see the road with low beams. My online search found several solutions engineered by aftermarket companies that fix this defect. The cost is $70 to $150 and requires about 4 hours work to install. This is clearly a defect and the affected vehicles should be recalled and repaired before someone dies.
Headlights, low beam lights do not put enough light out to see the road, impossible to drive at night if it's raining. I've put new bulb's in and still has not help.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the headlights on the vehicle were extremely dim, which made the vehicle difficult to drive at night. The contact changed the headlight bulbs, but that did not repair the failure. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000.
I bought the 2014 Cadillac Srx last week on February 15, 2017 and when leaving the dealership I noticed the headlights were very dim. I took it back and had the bulbs replaced but it did not fix the problem. I have since looked it up and see so many other Cadillac Srx owners with the same complaint. Driving at night is a safety issue and this vehicle definitely needs a recall.
The exterior lights are so dim at night that I cannot see at night. I have had the bulbs replaced but it doesn't help at all. I have to drive with my high beams on which also isn't safe.
I have a 2014 Cadillac Srx. While driving at night the low beams do not produce a lot of light. It's almost like driving with no lights on. I had the bulbs replaced yesterday thinking it would solve the problem but it didn't.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the low beam exterior head lamps failed to illuminate. The failure occurred without warning. Autonation Cadillac West palm beach (2101 45th St, West palm beach, fl) was contacted and recommended that the low beam head lamp assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
Low beam headlights are so dim, that I have to run with high beams only at night. They are not burnt out, but are just very dim. Cadillac admits it's a major problem reported by most Srx owners. The dealer wants over $1800 to replace the lights. Of course this is unsafe for the driver and those approaching the car having to deal with high beam lights.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. While driving unknown speeds, the low beam headlights dimmed without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to test the alternator and/or battery. The contact replaced the halogen bulbs. The contact called a local dealer (billy navarre Chevrolet Cadillac, 1310 E college St, lake charles, la 70607) and was informed that the lighting assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 67,430.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. While driving various speeds, the lights were too dim especially at night.
