Headlamp lenses, circular magnifier clouded (within the assembly) causing decreased headlamp performance. New lamps do not correct this problem. Literally this Cadillac has cataracts...
Purchased a pre-owned 2014 with 69,000 miles. The low beam headlights didn't illuminate, but the high beams were great. I replaced the low beam bulbs and some light now hits the road, but not nearly enough. It appears that the glass sphere in front of the bulbs is gray and not allowing light to pass thru. The dealer should not have sold the car in this condition.
The headlights of the Cadillac Srx (2014) are so dim that you cannot see the road in front you at night/early morning. It is a huge safety concern. There needs to be a recall on these headlights. My bulbs have been tested and are fine. It is a design flaw in the vehicle. Please investigate the problem and hold Cadillac/GM responsible! attached are photos taken from inside the vehicle in the early morning hours and late evening hours.
We purchased our 2014 Cadillac on 7/3/2019. Carfax check out great. 5 days later we left town at 9:30 pm for a MINIvacation. It was getting dark. We thought the lights seemed pretty dim, but then again it wasn't completely black outside at this point. As it proceeded to get darker we started to get extremely frightened it was like driving with dim flashlights. The high beams work fine but the low beams do not! ! I got online to see if there was a problem with this and it turns out there are several complaints and a class action lawsuit in California !!! I called the Cadillac dealership and they acted like they had never heard of this! we seriously thought we were going to be in an accident that night. What is it going to take for Cadillac to take responsibility for this are several people going to have to die? not a great way to drive on the freeway or in town. We did both.
Front headlights are out. They have always been very dim and have gotten worse with time. GM was sued by several customers and they were supposed to offer free reimbursement for replacing the parts. Letters sent only received by few people. GM refuses to take responsibility for the defective vehicles they manufactured from 2010-2015, all having the same issues. Vehicle is useless at night. Safety hazard. Dimmitt cadlllac in clearwater, Florida is not taking responsibility either, although they have been aware of the problem for over 2 years. Dimmitt failed to inform the clients a 90-day window to repair was offered pursuant to a letter most customers did not receive, even when my vehicle was taken within the window period for oil change. The consensus is that GM manufactured defective seals around the headlights which allow moisture/condensation to get in damaging the lights. Vehicle cannot be driven at night as lights are off. This is not a one time event. It's an ongoing situation that GM refuses to correct and/or issue a recall even though all Cadillac Srx 2010-2015 have the same problem.

Cadillac Srx low beams lights are extremely dim. Provides very little visibility at night. It almost looks like the car is running on day lights only, even though the low beams are on. It is extremely dangerous and needs to be remedied asap. I have had the bulbs tested and the mechanic says they are fine. It is just the way they are placed in the vehicle. I am terrified to drive at night, but this is my only vehicle and I do not have the funds to replace it right now.
When driving at night the low beams are very dim. I have to drive with the high beams other wise I cannot see the road. Other drivers get upset but I cant use the vehicle at night. Lights are on but very dim. I had dealer inspect and he said the focusing lens get destorted and the light doesn't go through. Cost wold be over $1800 and not permenantly fix the defective focusing lens.
Head light low beams are dangerously dim. It is very unsafe to drive this car at night. Someone is going to get killed or seriously injured with this issue. A recall for this safety issue is immediately needed to save lives. Already came close to an accident when a truck pulled out in front of us, while driving home.. he could not see us. Please take this seriously and help us.
Dim headlights have become so dim that it's unsafe to drive at night unless high beam lights are on. Contacted local dealership and was told I could have them replaced at my cost.
My headlights became too dim to safely drive my car at night, seemed to be the magnifying part inside the light was fogged up. I took it to dealer where I purchased car and had them look at lights. They tell me I just need new bulbs. I had another place replace bulbs and it didn't help at all. Had to have headlights replaced out of pocket ((couldn't be fixed without replacing) to safely drive at night
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. While driving at dusk, the headlamps failed to properly illuminate the roadway. The vehicle was taken to kerbeck Cadillac atlantic city (located at 340 N albany ave, atlantic city, NJ 08401, (609) 246-2211) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the bulbs could be replaced and the headlamp lens could be restored; however, the failure could recur. The contact was also informed that the internal reflector in the headlamp was at fault and that the headlamp assembly would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
Unsafe to drive at night - the low beams on this car as so dim that you cannot drive it safely at night. Cadillac refuses to accept there is an issue. Multiple class action lawsuits have been launched and this same complaint is all over the internet.I can't understand why nhsta hasn't looked into this problem since it presents dangerous situation and affects multiple Cadillac models fro 2010 to 2015. Please look into the obvious safety hazard.
Headlights are very dim. Dealer just replaced headlamp assemblies costing me approximately $1,800. No improvement. The lights are so dim, my teenage daughter cannot drive on remote highways due to the headlights not providing a safe level of illumination. GM needs to fix this problem. It is ubiquitous among Srx owners. Very unsafe.
Head lights are extremely dim making the vehicle dangerous while driving at night. Currently, we cannot use the vehicle for long trips at night. The lights were fine when the vehicle was purchase new. The lights got worse as the years went by.
The low beam headlights are so dim I almost got hit by a motorist that did not see me coming down the road.thios has happened multiple times and I cannot see to drive at night with the low beams on. I was stopped by the state police for having my high beams on and told them I could not see with my low beams on. Officer looked at the head lights and said that the dealer of Cadillac should replace them with new ones at no cost to me.this should have a recall done with new style of headlamp assemblies
3 years ago I complained to holman Cadillac about moisture in head light assembly which cause dim lighting on driver's side head light setting off error messages and the lens started to crack and to help resolve the issue, I tape the lens. GM refused repair under bumper to bumper warranty and the dealership told me I would have to pay $1,600 for the replacement.
