On several occasions consumer smelled smoke and a burning odor coming from the steering column while driving 50 mph. Vehicle was taken to two separate dealers. Both dealers informed consumer that the problem was not covered under a recall.
Consumer was traveling about 70mph on highway and rpms went all the way to zero. He pulled over and had to be towed. Dealership was aware of the problem.meter assembly/sender assemble and harness. There was a design flaw. Also, wires were melted together, causing a shortage.
